Twitch Has Banned Amouranth

Popular Twitch streamer Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa has been banned from the Amazon-owned streaming service for the first time since 2021, marking the sixth ban in her streaming career. News of Amouranth’s ban came out of nowhere on social media, with other users commenting on her temporary ban from Twitch.

As a content creator known for her hot tub streams and other ventures, Amouranth is no stranger to criticism and controversy throughout her career as a streamer. Recently, Amouranth had a fierce boxing match with another female anchor, Adriana Chechik, on the live broadcast. While Amouranth will officially play in Madrid on July 1, it’s unclear whether her exchanges with Chechik were a publicity ploy for the event or a legitimate argument. Still, with Amouranth suspended, it remains to be seen how that will affect her game plan, if at all.

However, neither Twitch nor Amouranth have publicly commented on the ban at the time of writing. On Twitter, StreamerBans reported that Amouranth’s sixth ban was issued today (May 4) at 12:02 pm ET. The duration of the ban was also not disclosed. Given that a message popped up on Amouranth’s Twitch page indicating that her channel is temporarily unavailable, the ban may not last long. Amouranth’s previous ban from Twitch was imposed in October 2021, and she returned to stream on the platform three days later. The reason for her previous ban was also never publicly disclosed. After the announcement of Amouranth’s ban from Twitch, users on social media had mixed reviews. While some users welcomed the ban and mocked Amouranth and her content, others pondered why she was banned and demanded answers from her or Twitch.

While she’s spoken out against criticism of her content and has called out Twitch’s policies around sexual content in the past, Amouranth remains one of the most popular streamers on the platform. In 2022, Amouranth is the only female streamer to break into Twitch’s top 100 viewers. While she has had a rough year between her ex-husband’s abuse allegations and the return of a stalker from Estonia, only time will tell how the ban will affect Amouranth in the short term.

Amouranth’s ban is just the latest in a string of high-profile content creators such as BruceDropEmOff who received his third Twitch ban this year. It remains to be seen when Amouranth will return to streaming, and what she will have to say.
