The Bust the Dust Sims 4 Kit brings Dust Bunnies to the game. The release of the kit caused some controversy at first, as some fans of the game found it odd that they had to buy a kit that seemed to only contain dust and a vacuum cleaner, but actually included much more.
In The Sims 4, Dust Bunnies are friendly creatures that Sims can raise around their house, and they can even help out by finding items and Simoleans that Sims may have lost around the house. Players can make money if they learn to live with these dusty friends, and this guide will show players how to do just that.
What are dust bunnies?
When the house gets dirty enough, the dust bunny will appear. Dust bunnies are dust balls that live in dirty environments. In The Sims 4, it takes a while for a house to get dusty; the more Sims living in the house, the faster it happens, but it still takes a few days of game time for the house to get dirty.
The dust removal system has to be enabled in the settings to make the house dusty. Players can verify that it is activated by visiting the Game Options Pack Settings Bust the Dust.
Once the home is dusty, the dust bunny will show up indoors – it doesn’t have to be to the point of filth, because if that happens, the filth demon will emerge.
How to Make Money with Dust Bunny
Oddly enough, Dust Bunnies are a great source of income in The Sims 4 and don’t require a lot of work. Initially, when the Dust Bunny spawns, its happiness will be low, so the player must raise its happiness by feeding it Dust.
After the first feeding, Sims will be able to ask Dust Bunnies to search for valuables every 40 minutes or so in-game. They can come up with all kinds of items like upgrade parts, toys, and collectibles, and they might even just find some lost Simoleons in this place.
As the Dust Bunny’s happiness level increases from low to neutral and eventually to high or very high, Sims will be able to pet the Dust Bunny and even become friends. Befriending a Dusty Rabbit will make them stay longer and increase their utility – they’ll find rarer items and higher amounts of Simoleons, and they’ll survive in the cleanest environments – This is great because Sims will finally be able to clean up their trash in case they have guests over.
Friendly Dust Bunnies can still vacuum or stomp, but this will put Sims in a low mood.
