Tekken 8’s King gameplay trailer was released earlier this March, revealing that his professional wrestling style has been preserved. The character has been the series’ resident wrestling fighter, with a defensive playstyle focused on grabbing and quick strikes due to his limited range. Also a big wrestling move is his Rage Art, which is a spinning inverted tirabuzon. Other techniques that appear in King’s moves include backstabs, running power bombs, and even giant swinging power bombs.

The Tekken 8 roster is currently filled with a bunch of returning characters, albeit redesigned and built from the ground up. For King’s storyline in Tekken 8, he was an active professional wrestler while managing an orphanage. The war between G Company and the Mishima Zaibatsu swept the world, and several children became homeless. This motivates him to enter the King of Irons tournament in hopes of getting the money he needs to help the kids.
