Star Wars Jedi: Survivor players discovered an interesting secret boss fight while playing the game. The boss fight in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is one of the most difficult fights in the entire series, but this particular boss isn’t much of a challenge for many players.
Although it’s still early days, Respawn appears to be hiding a ton of secrets and references for players to discover. Another player recently spotted Attack of the Clones in Star Wars Jedi Knight : Survivors, suggesting that the developers have scoured different secrets from all corners of the Star Wars franchise. It should be noted that these are the things that were discovered in the first few days after the release, so there may be more hidden things that may not have been discovered by the community for a while.
This particular Easter egg was noticed by Redditor NoPersonKnowsWhhoIAm, who spotted a lone Scout in one of the game’s levels. He’s not just any scout in Star Wars Jedi: Survivors. This is “Rick the Door Technician” and the game treats it like a boss fight. Rick the Door Technician babbling, screaming and rushing to Cal Kestis. However, he is easily defeated with one hit. The game even gives the player a hilarious “Boss Defeated” popup after death. Players don’t actually have to kill Rick the Door Technician, as he’s easy to dodge in-game.
A common theory in the threads is that Rick is a nod to radar technician Matt, who was the subject of a 2015 SNL sketch in which Adam Driver played Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequels. It’s a very poignant reference that not everyone understands, so it’s interesting that it might be a nod to Matt. Others simply proclaimed him the best boss in the entire game, with one player claiming that “Vader doesn’t know anything about Rick.”
With the game now in players’ hands, the developers of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor can now begin post-launch support for the game. Gamers hope that Respawn has opted to develop some single-player DLC for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, since the original game didn’t receive any DLC. First and foremost, though, the studio’s focus remains on getting the game into a playable state on PC. Many gamers continue to report that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is unplayable on the platform, and this should definitely be a priority ahead of any new content.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is out now on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
