Despite various performance issues faced by players, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was more popular than Fallen Order as it surpassed the original game’s peak concurrent player count on Steam. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches on April 28th on PC and current-gen consoles, and it looks like users are experiencing poor performance when playing the game.
The PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in particular has received a lot of criticism, as the issues have resulted in users flooding its Steam page with negative reviews. Even gamers with high-end PCs reported encountering various frame rate issues, though many praised the game for those issues. Its scores have recovered somewhat since then, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor currently has mixed ratings on Steam. Despite these issues, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has now managed to exceed the highest concurrent player count for Fallen Order on Steam.
According to SteamDB, “Star Wars Jedi Knight : Survivors” peaked at 63,597 concurrent users on Steam, surpassing “Star Wars Jedi Knight : Fallen Order” at 46,550 concurrent players. This is a significant increase over the original game, which doesn’t appear to suffer from the same issues, as it currently has a “very positive” rating on Steam. Of course, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order came out in 2019, so development time may have released several updates to fix any major issues. Star Wars: Squadrons is not far behind as it has 36,492 concurrent players.
Despite defeating Fallen Order, Star Wars Jedi Knight : Survivor does not claim the crown of most popular Star Wars game in terms of highest player count on Steam as LEGO Star Wars : Skywalker Saga manages to reach 82,517 concurrent users. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is one of the best-selling games in the first half of 2022, second only to Elden Ring.
At the time of writing, according to SteamDB, 43,078 fans are currently playing Star Wars Jedi Knight : Survivor on Steam, and it will be interesting to see if it can hit higher concurrency counts in the coming days. Many single-player games can peak in their first weekend after launch, but multiplayer titles like Destiny 2 sometimes break that record with the release of new expansion packs.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
