A Skyrim player accidentally killed Lydia during the game, ending her life in a cinematic kill shot. Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim features a follower system, allowing gamers to recruit various NPCs in the game as allies. These followers offer many benefits, such as fighting alongside the player when battling Skyrim’s various enemies and monsters.
The Elder Scrolls 5: There are a lot of good followers to choose from in Skyrim, and Lydia is one of the most popular followers on the list. Many Skyrim players have shared stories of how Lydia died during gameplay, such as when she was killed by a giant while exploring the world. Now, another player has shared a video of how they accidentally killed Lydia while fighting an enemy.
A Reddit user named Happy_Confection_621 shared a clip from Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim showing their battle with Mikrul Gauldurson. The player managed to kill the enemy in just three hits, but the fourth hit targeted Lydia, killing her in cinematic fashion with the kill camera. Players can then search for items on Lydia’s body, confirming that she is equipped with a set of steel armor, as well as carrying a bunch of dragon bones and scales.
At first glance, it looks like Happy_Confection_621 pressed the attack button while fighting an enemy, and then locked on to Lydia who was standing nearby. However, players confirmed that they believed Lydia was Draugr who popped up in Skyrim, and by the time they realized she was dead. It’s also fun to see the boss take three hits and Lydia doesn’t survive even one.
A fan in the comments section claimed to have accidentally killed many Skyrim followers because these NPCs ended up walking into the player while swinging their weapons. Another player shared that Skyguards can also be killed in a similar fashion, as they also seem to have a habit of walking into Dragonborn mid-swing. One user joked that the kill was in self-defense, while other players shared stories of how Lydia died in their games. Aside from her tragic death, fans also discussed the weapon shown in the video, which a Reddit poster confirmed was the Windsong Sword from the Hemlock Hall mod in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.
