It’s pretty exciting to see two games cross over to each other’s worlds, so for anyone looking to mix horror and fantasy RPGs, a recent mod for Skyrim lets players play as cyborgs The role of Leon Kennedy in Crisis. Considering its current age, it’s no surprise that The Elder Scrolls 5 has aged over the years. However, it’s not always about the visuals. Bethesda’s epic 2011 role-playing game is compelling, whether it’s its open-world aesthetic, immersive story, or sense of freedom.
It’s not just an ordinary experience, either. There are many ways to modify Skyrim, especially on PC, whether it’s bringing a bit of modernity to the graphics, simplifying the UI for a better experience, or performing custom quests for longevity. There are mods that give people a look at what it’s like to bring in characters from other franchises.
Take Foamimi, a Nexus Mods user, for example. Their latest project is the “RaceMenu Preset,” which inserts Resident Evil’s famous rookie cop into the sky, perhaps to swap out shooting zombies in Raccoon City for battling dragons in the frigid land of Tamriel. The images show Leon in a more fantastical setting, sporting his signature hair, and the mod’s creators say they want to jump on the “fan train.” However, it should be noted that these images are part of a “custom mashup” used by Foamimi, and they say they cannot be released to the public. This means that actual character models may look slightly different than those shown on Nexus Mods.
Some other modifications are required before installation. For starters, anyone interested in giving it a go needs Skyrim mod RaceMenu, a tool that allows for more character customization in The Elder Scrolls 5. Players will also need to download and install a number of other tools, such as “KS” Hairstyles” and “Expressive Facegen Morphs”.
Still, considering how quickly the Resident Evil 4 remake sold, it’s no surprise that people would like to see more of Leon Kennedy’s work. It sure would be weird to see a Resident Evil protagonist face off with Draugr or perform a Dragon Shout, but the inherent beauty of the modding community is that players can live out such fantasies.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim – Anniversary Edition is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
