The MCU cast of Fantastic Four could add Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, aka Invisible Woman. However, the Mission: Impossible : – Dead Reckoning star isn’t the only actor Marvel Studios has eyed for the role.
After several years of underwhelming movie adaptations, the Fantastic Four are finally joining the MCU thanks to Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Of course, the casting of the Fantastic Four is arguably the most crucial question on MCU fans’ minds, but the answer will come sooner or later.
Grace Randolph, who has a mixed scoop history but has provided reliable information in the past, said Kirby was Marvel Studios’ first choice to play Sue Storm in Fantastic Four. Randolph pointed out that Kirby is only in the campaign and has not yet made a decision. Other rumored contenders include That’s 70s Show star Mila Kunis, M3GAN star Allison Williams and Free Guy star Jodie Comer. Marvel Studios has yet to announce the cast, so until official casting news is revealed, this information should be taken with a grain of salt.
The latest Sue Storm casting rumors come shortly after reports emerged that Adam Driver was close to closing a deal to play Fantastic Four leader and Sue Storm’s husband, Reed Richards. While casting is reported to begin in February 2023, Marvel Studios is said to be looking for an actor to play Sue Storm before choosing someone to play Richards, Johnny Storm (Sue’s brother and Fantastic Four star). Human Torch) and Ben Green, aka The Thing. It’s also been rumored that the Fantastic Four reboot will feature Galactus and the Silver Surfer, but as of this writing that hasn’t been confirmed.
If the Driver and Sue Storm rumors are correct, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Marvel Studios might cast Sue Storm and Reed Richards first. As the father and mother of the Fantastic Four team, choosing two actors who can both embody the characters and generate chemistry is critical to the reboot’s success. After the disappointing results of the first two films and Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot for Fox, audiences are hoping Marvel Studios will do justice to the team.
Fantastic Four is currently scheduled for release on February 14, 2025.
