Resident Evil 4 Remake: How to Heal

Resident Evil 4 Remake follows Agent Leon S. Kennedy on a mission to find and rescue the president’s daughter, Ashley Graham, from a murderous cult. Arriving in a small village, he learns that a parasite has warped the minds of all the villagers, turning them violent. While he might not want to, the only way to find Ashley is to fight them.

Leon could be hurt a lot in his search for Ashley. Thankfully, RE4 Remastered allows its players to heal Leon in a variety of different ways. That said, not all treatments are as obvious as the others.

Healing with Green Herbs in Resident Evil 4 Remake

Mixed Herb in Resident Evil 4 remake While playing Resident Evil 4 Remake, players will stumble across a variety of unique collectibles. Some can be sold to merchants when found, while others can be turned into other things through crafting menus. Green herbs can be found quite frequently by exploring new areas, which is great considering how valuable their healing properties are.

After finding the green herb in Resident Evil 4 Remake, Leon can restore some of his health by selecting it in his inventory and selecting the “Use” option to consume it. The crafting menu can also be used to combine green herbs into mixed herbs. The more green herbs used to craft an herb mix, the more health the mix restores.

Combining a red herb with a green herb increases the overall health that the mixture can heal, and combining a green herb with a yellow herb partially heals Leon while permanently increasing his max health.

Heal with First Aid Spray in Resident Evil 4 Remake

First Aid Spray in Resident Evil 4 remake Another great way to restore health in Resident Evil 4 Remake is to obtain and use First Aid Spray. Unlike Herbs, First Aid Sprays are not overly reliable to find while exploring the world, as they are much rarer. The best way to get one is to visit a merchant and buy one from him for 5,000 pesetas. Players who are short of pesetas can go to Leon’s inventory to see if he has any treasures to sell.

Using First Aid Spray will fully restore all of Leon’s lost health, so players should make sure to only use this healing method when Leon’s health is close to depleted; otherwise, they should prioritize using items that heal less. To use the First Aid Spray, the player must find it in Leon’s inventory, select it, and select the “Use” option.

Additional Healing in Resident Evil 4 Remake

A Brown Chicken Egg in Resident Evil 4 remake While a mix of herbs and first aid sprays are a great remedy, Leon doesn’t always have them. If the player is struggling to find the ingredients needed to craft herbal blends, or simply can’t afford to buy any first aid sprays from the merchant, they should stay vigilant as they progress through each chapter, as there are other restorative items available.

While these items may not restore health like a mixed herb or first aid spray, they will come in handy if the player is struggling to survive certain encounters. Black Bass, found in shallow water; Eggs and Brown Eggs found on the ground next to chickens; Vipers that will roam around in various locations and destroy crates once collected, can be used to replenish Leon part of health.

Like Mixed Herbs and First Aid Spray, these other healing items can be used by selecting them in Leon’s inventory and selecting the “Use” option.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
