How to Get the Chicken Hat in Resident Evil 4 Remake
To earn the Chicken Hat, players need to beat the new game on Hardcore difficulty within five and a half hours. This will earn them an S+ rank, making the Chicken Hat available for 2,000 CP in the Extra Content Store.
Earning an S+ rank in NG+ does not grant Chick Hats, as game time carries over to New Game Plus.
How to Wear a Chicken Hat
The Chicken Hat can be purchased through the Extra Menu after purchasing it from the Extra Content Store. To wear it, players need to go to Extras in the main menu or pause menu, select Leon’s accessories, and confirm the hat.
Once equipped, the Chicken Hat needs to be removed from the main menu. It cannot be turned off mid-game unless the player saves the game, exits the main menu, changes it in the Extras tab, and jumps back into the game.
How Chicken Hats Affected Leon
As a protective accessory, the Chicken Hat reduces Leon’s damage taken by up to 50%. Its role is comparable to body armor, body armor that increases health. But unlike the vest, the Chick Hat requires no repairs, providing Leon with permanent protection.
