Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Typhlosion Tera Raid Event Guide

The next major Tera Raid event has been announced, and players will be happy to know they’ll be able to catch Typhlosion in Pokemon Scarlet Violet soon. This Pokmon doesn’t belong in the game’s Pokdex, as it can’t be found in the Paldea region, but players will have a unique chance to catch it during the upcoming Tera Raid event.

This guide will help gamers through this tough Pokemon Scarlet Violet 7 Star Tera Raid battle so they don’t miss out on this opportunity to catch this newbie Pokemon from the iconic Johto region.

How to Participate in Typhlosion Tera Raid Events

The Typhlosion Tera Raid event will run from 00:00 UTC on April 14th to 23:59 UTC on April 16th and from 00:00 UTC on April 21st to 23:59 UTC on April 23rd. This is a 7-star Tera Raid event, so in order to participate, players must complete the main story of Pokemon Scarlet Violet, complete all Gym rematch and Academy Ace tournaments, and defeat at least 10 4-star Tera Raid battles.

If a player meets all of the above requirements, they must also check the Poke Portal News for updates on their Raid encounters.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainer cheering during Tera Raid Typhlosions that players encounter during this event will have a Ghost Tera-Type. Of all the Hisuian starters appearing in the Tera Raid, Typhlosion is the only one whose Tera-Type matches its alternate form.

The important thing is to get a Pokemon that can deal damage to Ghost Pokemon and protect yourself from Fire-Type moves. Gyarados is a strong contender to defeat Typhlosion. Magikarp are common in the Paldea region; they can be found in almost every body of water, and they evolve early on – once you reach level 20.

Gyarados is a Water-type Pokmon, so it’s immune to any Fire-type moves from Typhlosion, and it has a pretty decent Special Defense stat. Most importantly, it has access to two powerful dark type moves : Crunch and Dark Pulse. Players should definitely teach their Gyarados Crunch in this fight to take full advantage of its powerful attack stats. As long as they spam the Crunch while fighting the Ghost-Tera Typhlosion, players should be able to defeat it and grab it in no time.

Alternatively, players who transferred it from Pokemon Home or captured it during a Greninja Tera Raid event should consider bringing Greninja into this battle. Its dual type will provide defense against Typhlosion, and it can deal a lot of damage with Dark Pulse and Night Slash.

Pokemon Scarlet Violet is now available on Nintendo Switch.
