Niantic is joining in on the April Fools fun with a day-long event in Pokemon GO. Rooster April : Pidgey Pandemonium will start Saturday, April 1 at 1pm local time and will end 6 hours later at 7pm local time. During this event, players will have a higher chance of finding one of the most basic Pokemon ever created, Gen 1 Normal/Flying Pokemon Pidgey. Not only that, but Pokemon GO players can also participate in some field and special research missions.
Pidgey Pandemonium areas and special research tasks and rewards
To address this, there is a field research mission during the event that requires players to transfer 3 Pokmon. The reward is the Pidgey encounter and 3 Poke Balls.
As for the Pidgey Pandemonium Special Research, it will start appearing in-game around 3pm local time. Study only steps, as follows :
Step 1: Catch 10 Pokmon (25 Pok Balls) Transfer 10 Pokmon (5 Potions) Make 5 Nice Throws (5 Nanab Berries) Total Reward : 1000 Stardust, Pidgey Encounter and 5 Razz Berries
Step 2: Claim Reward (10 Super Balls) Claim Reward (5 Super Potions) Claim Reward (3500 XP) Total Reward : 3000 Stardust, Pidgey Encounter, 15 Pidgey Candy
If any research quests for the Pidgey campaign do not pop up, trainers should restart the app to refresh the content.
Can Pidgey shine?
Yes, Pidgey and its evolutions Pidgeotto and Pidgeot have shiny versions in Pokemon GO. During the event, there is a higher chance to get XXS and XXL Pidgey. The two unlockable medals in the game can only be obtained by catching 500 XXS and XXL Pokmon.
How to evolve Pidgey
Pokemon GO players can access their Pokemon Inventory to evolve Pidgey they capture. It takes 12 Pidgey Candy to evolve into Pidgeotto, then 50 Candy to evolve Pidgeotto into Pidgeot. When players spot Pidgey in the wild, they should use Pinap Berries whenever possible to get more Pidgey Candy on the capture results screen.
After the April Fool’s Day event ends, Pokemon GO players can look forward to the Spring into Spring event starting April 4. Ribombee and Cutiefly will debut in Pokemon GO, and some Pokemon will even have cherry blossoms on their heads, such as the Eevee and Pichu evolution lines.
