Pokemon GO has announced a limited research day that will technically feature two Pokemon and give players two versions of Stunfisk. This is yet another announcement for Pokemon GO in April, an especially busy month for players of the Niantic game.
One of the big news for April was that Shaymin is finally available in Pokemon GO worldwide. Generation 4 Mythic Pokmon can be found in a new free special research, in a different form than what players will see at Pokemon GO Fest 2022. In addition to Shaymin this year, Pokemon GO players have seen a variety of creatures being added to the game, including Primal Groudon and Kyogre, as well as new Gen 9 Pokemon Gimmighoul and Gholdengo.
Next week, players will see Bounsweet debut in Pokemon GO during the Sustainability Week event, bringing the full evolution line of Pokemon to the game. Until then, the game will have a Limited Research Day on March 23 at 2:00 pm. By 5:00 pm local time, it will technically focus on the ground/electric Stunfisk and the Galarian Stunfisk, a regional variant introduced in Pokemon Sword and Shield. During the event, players will need to spin photo discs in PokeStops and accept limited field research tasks. By completing quests, players will find the Stunfisk or Galarian Stunfisk, and receive bonus rewards that increase the chances of the Pokemon appearing in Shiny form.
Stunfisk and Galarian Stunfisk will be the focus of limited research days, but the event will also increase spawn rates of wild Sandshrew, Diglett, Gligar, Swinub, Phanpy, Larvitar, Numel, Barboach, Baltoy, Hippopotas and Drilbur. As usual in Pokemon GO, lucky players will be able to find one of these shiny Pokemon. Interestingly, this is the second Pokemon GO event in April featuring a specific Pokemon – Swinub. This week Pokemon GO announced another Community Day Classic, which will take place in late April and feature Gen 2 Pokemon.
Pokemon GO is adding new Pokemon frequently, and Niantic regularly highlights other creatures already in the game. For casual players who don’t follow the game often, these events are a great opportunity to come back and test out new features that Niantic has added. For more dedicated Pokemon GO players, these events are also positive : they offer the chance to find Pokemon in better shape, which is important in the game’s competitive modes.
Pokemon GO is available on Android and iOS.
