A creature in Animal Crossing: New Horizons has unique features that can only be seen in dark environments, making it even more interesting to observe at night. Like many other creatures in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players must wait for a specific season and time before adding this creature to their ever-growing collection.
Even though content updates for Animal Crossing: New Horizons ended almost two years ago, the game’s community continues to enjoy the vast amount of content available. Additionally, players can still get custom designs, Happy Home Paradise DLC, Super Mario co-op items, and more. The Animal Crossing: New Horizons community also frequently shares its discoveries and completed projects. Recently, a player discovered an interesting detail about one of the game’s most elusive creatures of the deep.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons player Bruddheidvw noticed the vampire squid’s bioluminescent eyes and tentacle tips while observing deep-sea creatures at night. During the day, the Vampire Squid does not glow, as the creature is primarily active in Animal Crossing: New Horizons at night. At night, the vampire squid activates a light blue bioluminescent material to confuse and evade predators in the water. After observing the creature’s unique glow, Bruddheidvw and other players agreed that the vampire squid’s bioluminescence looked cooler.
The vampire squid is one of the most valuable deep sea creatures in Animal Crossing : New Horizons. From May to August, players can catch vampire squid between 4pm and 4pm. 9 a.m. local time in the northern hemisphere. In the southern hemisphere, vampire squid appear from November to February. Vampire squid are very elusive in the water, so diving for this creature requires a lot of trial and error.
The nocturnal presence of the vampire squid makes it one of the most remarkable creatures in Animal Crossing : New Horizons. Those lucky enough to catch a vampire squid or two may sell them for 10,000 Bell each. Some players may also choose to keep one as a reward for the time they spend diving for the creature. Players can talk to Blathers to donate to the museum and learn more about the vampire squid if desired.
The successor to Animal Crossing: New Horizons should have more rare creatures that can be obtained by fishing and diving. However, a sequel could still be years away. For now, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can continue to explore the secrets of the game while building their island however they wish.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now available for Nintendo Switch.
