New Stardew Valley-Like Game Coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X Soon

New farming simulator Out of Nowhere looks like the perfect game for anyone looking for a Stardew Valley vibe on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S. With the upcoming new update 1.6, Stardew Valley is still going strong, but the game is still a great addition for fans looking to expand.

Farming simulator games are very popular right now. Between the success of titles like Stardew Valley, Slime Rancher 2, and the aptly named Farming Simulator series, there’s no shortage of games for any gamer in the genre to try right now. On top of all those big names, there’s a newcomer joining the fray who might be able to match them all.

The game is called No Place Like Home, and a trailer announcing the game’s July 28 release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S went live on the publisher’s YouTube channel recently. The game description calls it a “fascinating post-apocalyptic farming simulator”. The footage shows the player clearing a wasteland full of trash and gradually turning it into a peaceful and vibrant village filled with animals, various houses, and farmland. If the game added Wall-E, it might be a lovely addition to the recycling mechanic.

The game has many interesting features, such as being able to find survivors in post-apocalyptic environments, recycling trash into building materials, and throwing a chicken disco. The cute animal and character designs look lighthearted and endearing, making Out of Nowhere an odd addition to the post-apocalyptic genre. The game puts the player character in the role of “a determined farmer tasked with rebuilding a ravaged world, starting with clearing mountains of trash.” It’s already out for PC and Nintendo Switch, but the trailer officially sets PlayStation and Xbox gamers can look forward to its release date on current-generation systems.

No Place Like Home is being developed by Awaken Realms, which has been a hugely important name in the board game space, having released hits like Nemesis and the tabletop version of This War of Mine, but is very new to digital gaming . The publisher is Merge Games, which has a solid reputation for releasing high-quality indie games, many of which are hugely popular, such as Ultimate Chicken Horse, Darkest Dungeon, and Dead Cells, as well as the recent Return to Castlevania DLC.

No Place Like Home is available now for PC and Switch, and is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on July 28.
