Seyka was part of an expedition sent to San Francisco, but ended up stranded on the Burning Shores. There she meets Aloy, and the two quickly bond, sharing similar combat prowess and feelings of being abandoned by the tribe. Aloy and Seyka grow closer during their Battle Machine adventures, with Seyka playing a major role in the character development of the protagonists of the Horizon series.

When Guerrilla Games asked Kylie Liya Page about her usual hairstyle in preparation for a facial scan, the actor said she always wears a very high ponytail. The studio decided to give Seyka the same hairstyle as her cast members, giving the Kun warrior in Horizon Forbidden West : the Burning Shore a sophisticated high ponytail.
