Here's How Ewan McGregor Reacted To Mary Elizabeth Winstead Joining Star Wars

Her husband McGregor has played Obi-Wan Kenobi for decades, which puts the married couple in a unique position to share this exciting series. When Winstead joined, there was nothing he could do but encourage to share with her, which was so exciting.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Winstead revealed her husband’s reaction when she became part of the Star Wars family. “He was so happy and excited for me,” she said. ‘He really is. He was like, ‘There’s nothing like being embraced by this community and being a part of it. It’s really a special thing. That’s certainly the right attitude, considering how integral McGregor is now in the Star Wars franchise.

Their shared love of Star Wars seems to have existed even before Winstead joined. “I love that you guys are like one Star Wars family,” Ahsoka star and co-star Rosario Dawson said in the same interview. “I knew when Obi-Wan was coming out, and you told me that in anticipation of it, people just came up and were like, ‘May the Force be with you.’” Winstead loved the experience. “Great,” she replied. “Just when Obi-Wan came out, people were like this special moment of, ‘Oh my God, we knew it was coming and we wanted to tell you we were in favor.’ It was so nice.

But when they come together with the love of something, it’s a magical moment. It looks like that’s what McGregor and Winstead have been going through, so hopefully this trend continues for them and everyone else who wants to enjoy being a part of this much-loved franchise.
