Genshin Impact Players Want More Geo Characters on the Roster

Genshin Impact players want more characters in the roster to control Geo elements. There are seven elements in the world of Teyvat, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. The game’s entire combat system revolves around combining these elements to trigger reactions with various effects.

While some elemental reactions like Vaporize provide a simple damage amplifier, others can completely immobilize a group of enemies. The addition of Dendro in Genshin Impact update 3.0 completely changed the character meta as it introduced eight new elemental reactions.

A post by Reddit user BioticFire states that with the recently announced new character Kirara, the game will have more Dendro characters than Geo users in version 3.7 of Genshin Impact. Many reviews claim that this is absurd considering Dendro returns in August 2022 and Geo has been a part of the game since its release. The last character to join the Geo Vision roster was the four-star unit Yunjin in Update 2.4. Probably one of the reasons HoYoverse avoids adding Geo users to the game is that most of them are not viable in the current meta. The element can only trigger one reaction, Crystallization, which equips the player with a shield if they attack an enemy affected by Pyro, Electro, Hydro, or Cryogenic.

We now officially have more Dendro characters in Genshin_Impact than u/BioticFire’s Geo characters While crystallization can be useful at times, it’s probably the weakest elemental reaction in the game right now. None of the newly added Dendro element reacts to interact with Geo, which makes the element feel even more isolated. Currently, the only S-level character with this element is probably Liyue’s consul Zhongli. His strength, however, is a stackable kit that deals tons of damage while providing the most powerful shield in Genshin Impact.

The second most popular Geo character is probably 5-star DPS Arataki Itto. However, in order for Itto to compete with other DPS units in Genshin Impact, players need to surround him with a specific team composition that has at least two characters that share the same element.

For the past few months, players have been asking HoYoverse to redo this element. An interesting Genshin Impact fan-made concept proposes that a reworked version of Crystalize should provide additional buffs to the entire team based on the element it interacts with. However, it’s unlikely that HoYoverse will make such a drastic change before its next major update.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4 and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
