Genshin Impact Players Are Split on the Game's Puzzles

Genshin Impact players were divided when discussing the game’s puzzles in areas like Inazuma and Sumeru. Puzzles are a vital element when exploring ruins and locations around the world of Teyvat, guiding Genshin Impact players to uncover valuable loot and secrets.

In Genshin Impact, the world of Teyvat continues to evolve with each major update. Genshin Impact version 3.6 will introduce another Sumeru map expansion, allowing players to discover even more puzzles and chests. Puzzle complexity is an ongoing topic of discussion in the Genshin Impact community, with a recent debate comparing the Lightning and Meru regions added in the 2.0 and 3.0 updates respectively.

In a recent Reddit thread by u/HereForGames, Genshin Impact players were divided as they tried to come to a consensus on whether the puzzles would be better in Inazuma or Sumeru. According to u/HereForGames, the puzzles on Lightning Island are more elaborate and ingenious than those found throughout the Meru Desert. This user believes that negative player feedback on the Lightning puzzle may have caused HoYoverse to downgrade the entire Sumeru puzzle. However, when discussing the complexity of the Lightning puzzle, some players took the opposite view, causing a big difference of opinion in the community.

Other Reddit users in the Genshin Impact community felt that the Sumeru puzzle was equally complex due to the extensive layout beneath the desert. Additionally, some feel that lightning puzzles are poorly designed, leading to the need to search for solutions or seek help online. For example, reviewer u/LiesSometimes felt that the lightning puzzles were too time-consuming and would rather explore the Meru Desert or advance the main story. Other Reddit users in the community either admit to being casual Genshin Impact players, or see the forgiving nature of Sumeru puzzles as a positive for players with busy schedules.

After studying stats such as puzzles and quests completed by Genshin Impact’s player base, HoYoverse may adjust its thinking about puzzle design. Puzzles in Inazuma and Sumeru may vary due to player feedback on the various updates, but the community seems to be split because of how players approach puzzles differently when traversing the world. In some cases, players may inadvertently bump into critical puzzle pieces, causing them to solve the puzzle faster than other players.

Ultimately, it’s up to the player to decide how to solve the puzzles in Genshin Impact and when to call for help. Teyvat’s expansive world may have its faults, but the game’s sense of adventure is virtually unmatched in today’s free-to-play universe. Fans can expect more updates in the coming months, including Genshin Impact versions 3.7 and 3.8.

Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. A Nintendo Switch version is currently in development, with no release date set yet.
