A new Genshin Impact leak reveals more information about one of the most anticipated characters, Hydro Archon. This new character is expected to appear in the next major update, which is expected to be Fontaine. Every region introduced in the game so far has had a Archon as the main protector of the state.
It seems like after Venti, Zhongli, Raiden Shogun, and Nahida, it’s time for Genshin Impact to introduce a new Archon to the game. There isn’t much information about the character other than she’s also known as the God of Justice. While the Archon is likely to appear in 4.0, it’s unlikely she’ll be added to the playable list in the same update.
While Travelers wait to learn more about this unique character, the Genshin Impact leaker has been offering more information about the upcoming content. Although Hydro Archon was formerly known as Focalors, reliable leaker merlin_impact has revealed that her real name may be Furina. Some fans suspect that she may use both names, which is not unusual for an in-game Archon. For example, Geo Archon Zhongli is also known as Morax and Rex Lapis, while the recently added Archon Nahida is also known as Lesser Lord Kusanali and God of Wisdom.
According to previous leaks, Focalors have a righteous personality, and Archon Quest may have Travelers fighting for justice. Rumors also claimed that she would become a tsundere, a Japanese term for the softer side of certain mean-spirited people that emerges over time.
Speaking of her strength on the field, she’s supposed to be a swordsman, which means she’ll be the first Archon to have this weapon type. Currently, three characters have this combination of weapons and elements : Nilou, Ayato and Xingqiu. Furina’s Elemental Burst will reportedly allow her to manipulate gravity, leading many fans to believe she can make certain characters in her party move differently.
This means she can make certain DPS characters like Shaw consistently use his dive attack. Like the four previous Archons, Furina is expected to be a support, which will allow her to fit into multiple team combinations in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5 and mobile. A Switch version is in development.
