Genshin Impact Leak Teases Fontaine's Playable Fatui Harbinger

A new leak from Genshin Impact is teasing a new playable member of Fatui’s Harbingers, which is expected to become playable sometime during the Fontaine cycle. With just a few months to go until the release of the popular role-playing game’s newest region, leaks are already starting to provide plenty of clues about Fontaine. Recent in-development leaks have teased a host of new character sets joining the HoYoverse RPG’s playable roster and locations players will visit throughout Fontaine. Now, a new update hints at the next playable Fatui Harbinger.

Previous leaks about the Hydro Archon region’s story have already indicated that multiple Fatui Harbingers will be involved in Genshin Impact’s new story. Both Dottore and Wanderer have been teased to play prominent roles in the latest Archon Quests, with each character also featured prominently in the Sumeru region’s main episode. The leaks also suggest that multiple new Heralds could appear alongside Arlecchino, while Sandrone speculates that they will debut at Fontaine. In the new region, a new Fatui member will reportedly be added to the playable roster.

A recent leak shared by renowned Genshin Impact leaker Tao via leaker Little Teyvat revealed the identity of the presumed playable Fatui Harbinger arriving at Fontaine. According to the update, Sandrone is expected to be Genshin Impact’s third playable Fatui member after Tartaglia and Wanderer. The trailer usually shows Sandrone with a hulking robotic sidekick, while Sandrone hints that she’s a robot researcher, like the Ruin enemy. Sandrone has yet to officially appear in Genshin Impact, teased only through trailers and character voiceovers.

Sandrone may join Fontaine cycle’s playable roster, as leaks from Genshin Impact have already hinted at several new characters. Lyney and Lynette were first teased in the game’s “Travail” trailer released shortly after launch, and it’s been widely speculated that they’ll make their debut in Fontaine’s version 4.0. The leak also teased multiple other Fontaine characters, including Cryo character Wriothesley and an unnamed character from Fontaine’s Navy. Genshin Impact’s 4.0 update, which introduces new regions, is currently expected to launch in mid-August.

While Fontaine will bring plenty of new adventures for Genshin Impact players, Hydro Archon’s realm isn’t the only new area on the horizon. Recent leaks have revealed that version 3.8 will add a new limited-time area, similar to the Isles of Golden Apples previously featured. The new location, dubbed Penumbra, will reportedly serve as the predecessor to Fontaine and will bring new skins for Klee and Kaeya. With the advent of Fontaine and a new limited-time zone, the next few months will be a busy one for Genshin Impact fans.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5 and mobile. A Switch version is in development.
