Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Version 3.8 Event Characters

A new leak for Genshin Impact version 3.8 reveals the characters that will star in the update’s main event, expected to arrive in early July. Each new update for HoYoverse’s hugely popular role-playing game includes a patch centered around a major event, usually starring several of the game’s playable actors. The main event for Genshin Impact’s ongoing 3.6 update, Parade of Providence, will feature multiple characters from Sumeru, including Tighnari, Cyno, and the upcoming Kaveh. Now, the cast of the much-rumoured 3.8 event has leaked.

The main event of version 3.8 has been the subject of several Genshin Impact rumors, despite the long wait for the patch release. It is highly recommended that this update contains a new time-limited island area, similar to the Golden Apple Isles. Several characters have been speculated to be connected to the event, including island event mainstays Klee and Eula, who are believed to be receiving rerun banners during patch 3.8. Now, a recent leak has shared more information about the main characters who will star in the island adventure.

An update from well-known Genshin Impact leaker Merlin Impact shares details about the main cast of the 3.8 flagship event. The post confirms the previously mentioned Klee and Eula will make an appearance during the event, with Kokomi and Collei also joining the main cast. The previous island event, version 2.8 of Summer Fantasy, also featured a mix of characters from multiple regions, including Mondstadt’s Fischer and Mona as well as Liyue’s Xinyan and Lightning Kazuha. The update may also rerun the banner for Klee.

The 3.8 island update looks like it will offer even more perks for Klee fans and potentially another classic Mondstadt character. Rumors abound that Klee will be getting her own skin, with multiple leakers confirming that version 3.8 will be released. Previous leaks also suggested that starting four-star character Kaeya might get a new skin, though he’s been conspicuously left out of the campaign’s main cast. The island-themed campaigns from the previous two iterations of Genshin Impact came with new skins, including Barbara and Jean in 1.8 and Fischl and Diluc in 2.8.

Expect the release of version 3.8 later this year to bring the following updates ahead of the bigger events of Genshin Impact. After patch 3.8 wraps up, HoYoverse is expected to introduce the game’s fifth main area, Fontaine. Leaks and in-game teasers have given players an idea of what to expect in the area, with Hydro Archon’s realms largely focused on technology and possibly featuring new water-themed mechanics. New Klee skins and new islands to explore will wrap up Genshin Impact’s Sumeru chapter later this year.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5 and mobile. A Switch version is in development.
