A new Genshin Impact leak reveals more information about the Mondstadt expansion that will arrive in the coming months. So far, the game has introduced four major regions, Mond, Liyue, Lightning, and the recently added Xumi Kingdom. Each area in the game has a representative element and an archon as its main protector.
Back in September 2020, Mondstadt was the first region to reach Genshin Impact. This is where every traveler begins their journey across the vast world of Teyvat. Despite feeling dated compared to other countries, Mondstadt is still a favorite region for many players.
Over the past few months, numerous leaks have hinted at a future northward expansion of the Anemo region. Previous rumors have also claimed that the current version of Mond City only takes up 60 percent of the entire area, which means there’s still plenty of explorable terrain to be added. However, a new post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit claims that the expansion won’t be as big as many players expected. The leak also revealed that the new part of Mondstadt will border Snezhnaya. Of all seven regions, Snezhnaya is expected to be the last to arrive, at least according to one of the game’s earliest story trailers.

According to this theory, Liberty City may also include some additional hidden ruins that can be found underwater, as the entire island is surrounded by dark colors on the map.
The new part of Mondstadt may also include the port mentioned in one of Venti’s voice lines. Its rumored location away from major cities means it may connect Mondstadt and Snezhnaya. Fans are hoping the new map expansion will finally introduce Valka, the fabled Master of the Beloved Order, currently on an important crusade.
Klee’s mother, Alice, is mentioned in several questlines and is another notable character that could make an appearance in the coming months. Rumored to be one of the most powerful mages, she is responsible for arranging the game’s annual summer event, the Golden Apple Isles.
