Fortnite is currently in the middle of Chapter 4 Season 2, finally allowing Battle Pass owners to earn its promotional gear by completing various challenges. This season’s character outfit is Eren Yeager, the protagonist of the Attack on Titan anime and manga, with additional themed cosmetics.
These extra items can be earned by completing specific challenges, one of which includes a very specific reference to the show/comic. The challenge involves finding the Jaeger family basement on the Fortnite Battle Royale map. This guide will help players head straight to the basement without having to hunt around.
Jaeger Family basement location in Fortnite
The challenges listed on the quest menu do give some clues to the location of the basement. It’s located in the small village of Anvil Square near the middle of the map. There are many buildings in Anvil Square. Fortunately, the concealment of the basement is not good enough, and players can only go from house to house.
The concrete building containing the basement is the two-story building on the southeast corner of Anvil Square. The house has a terrace leading to the entrance and another set of stairs within an open alcove.

The basement will be in an alcove on the right side of the house. Simply step into the alcove and there will be a different set of stairs to the left leading down to the basement. All the player needs to do is walk through the basement door to trigger the completed quest.
There are no items to interact with or other objectives to complete. Just being in the basement is enough, making this quest ideal for doing at the start of a match before other players can prepare ahead of time.
This quest will reward players with the bling on the back of the basement key and progress towards the Eren Jaeger outfit. While the quest is a direct reference to the Jaeger family basement in the anime/manga, the objective doesn’t contain any spoilers to give players unfamiliar with the source material any plot points.
