Fallout 4 Player Creates Blast Radius Board Game In Real Life

A Fallout 4 fan has shared their incredible real-life rendition of the game’s Blast Radius board game. There are a lot of incredible things players can do in Fallout 4, but unfortunately playing Blast Radius isn’t one of them. However, this may be the closest player ever.

Fallout 4 contains a lot of junk items that most players would easily skip during their adventure. However, most items actually serve a purpose thanks to the game’s robust crafting system that makes every item count. The Blast Radius board game is one of them, mostly scattered around Fallout 4’s Commonwealth as a set, giving the world a sense of history and atmosphere. However, this fan was clearly intrigued by the concept and decided to see if it could become a reality.

This version of Blast Radius was posted to Reddit by user ypco, who has turned the artwork displayed in the game into a faithful piece of entertainment. It looks so much fun that users can even create a whole deck of cards to use in the game. Even more impressive, Fallout 4 never provided an actual ruleset for the board game, so this Redditor had to create his own for gaming purposes. They even went on to describe how to play the game in the post, describing it as mechanically similar to Game of Life.

Disappointed to see that Blast Radius was just a prop, so I turned it into a real board game for u/ypco in fo4 Some people were so impressed with this creation that they suggested that Bethesda might even license it to players. While it’s true that the Fallout board game already exists in Fantasy Flight, there’s still something to be said about the stunning simplicity of Blast Radius, as well as its utter game-friendliness. Bethesda has partnered with companies in the past to bring in-game items to life, and Nuka-Cola partnered with Jones Soda in 2017, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if a true version of Blast Radius is released sometime in the future.

Amazingly, gamers continue to be influenced by Fallout 4, even eight years after its release. Bethesda games have always seemed to maintain active player bases over the years, and Skyrim’s incredible modding community is a shining example of why that still is the case. Fallout 5 is likely many years away, and hopefully fans will continue to play Fallout 4 for many years to come, as Bethesda’s classic still has a lot to offer gamers.

Fallout 4 is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions coming in 2023.
