A new Elden Ring player’s experience with one of the Abductor Virgins in the game went very wrong for them. The world of Elden Ring is huge, about 79 square kilometers, and there are many enemies inhabiting this vast land, each of which is almost more terrifying than the other. Encounter challenging foes ranging from giant rune bears that crush their prey to furnace knights that won’t let players heal. For new players who don’t know how to fight them, encountering something like the Abductor Virgin can be a humbling experience.
The Abductor Virgin is an Elden Ring enemy that looks scary as a giant moving statue that looks like an Iron Maiden. These enemies can be found in many locations, such as Raya Lucaria Academy and Caria Manor, and there are several versions, each with its own weapon; one with a swinging blade on a chain, and another with a circular saw. While this is scary in itself, their Iron Maiden chests can also be opened to reveal snakes to grab the player and pull them in for extra damage.
Unfortunately for a new Elden Ring player, their experience with the Abductor Virgins was not good. On the Elden Ring subreddit, user kcompto3 uploaded a clip of their encounter with Abductor Virgin. In the clip, it shows the player healing while shrugging off the Abductor Virgin’s spinning attack. When the Abductor Virgin throws their pendulum blade, the player runs under it, but is knocked out by the blade being pulled back. When they try to stand up, the Abductor Virgin opens its chest, grabs the player, and deals extra damage before catapulting them off the nearest ledge until they die.
In the comments, many netizens gave advice on how to fight kidnapped virgins, and some netizens gave the holy words of trying not to fight near the cliff, because this is the reason for the player’s death. As a recent infographic shows, it actually states that 14% of Elden Ring player deaths are due to falls, suggesting that not enough players are heeding this advice.
While it was an unfortunate death, players may learn from it. Hopefully, every death learns a lesson, like making sure to convert Elden Ring runes into Vigor, and even upgrade your weapons to deal more damage. Elden Ring isn’t the type of game that leaves room for new players, so learning how to navigate it is the only way to continue surviving in the brutal Lands Between.
Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
