Elden Ring Invader Gets Stuck on Water Wheel

An Elden Ring player gleefully watches as their PvP raiders are trapped on a giant water wheel running forever. FromSoftware’s open-world hit Elden Ring is one of the most successful and critically-acclaimed games of 2022, garnering massive sales and near-universal acclaim, and even winning Game of the Year at The Game Awards.

While Elden Ring is an incredibly expansive, rich single-player experience, players who want to test their builds in PvP challenges have the option to hack other players using various finger items found in The Lands Between . Invaders appear in the Overlord’s world in the form of some kind of red sprite, where two players clash, life and death are at stake. In December 2022, West Limgrave, Caelid and Leyndell added the Colosseum as a dedicated arena for PvP duels. Even with such a battle hub, players can still enjoy the Invasion feature, which allows encounters to take place almost anywhere in the open world.

Reddit user Esbidee posted a 30-second video of the invading but whimsical Raya Lucaria Academy in the dark depths of the heart of Liurnia. As the duel unfolds near the rock face, the host player performs a Shield Crash Ash of War, rushing forward at the invaders and knocking them back from the rock face with their shields. The intruders fell onto a giant waterwheel, landed on their backs, got up before the wheels rolled them off, and started running for their lives. While the intruder hilariously runs around on wheels like a hamster, the host player, wearing the infamous Elden Ring villain Patches, crouches down and gleefully watches the intruder from the ledge.

The fate of the intruder is unknown, as the clip ends with the intruder still running on wheels. Esbidee also didn’t offer any insight into the issues below the post, so it’s safe to assume the intruder eventually got tired and fell off the wheel. If the intruder had moved far enough forward, they might have been able to grab lift on the far end of the wheel, but jumping like this is a long shot. Players who have explored the depths of Raya Lucaria know that just below this gigantic wheel awaits an evil Abductor Virgin who, if caught in its crude grabbing attack, will teleport players into the fiery hellscape of Mt Gelmir A volcanic estate in the middle of nowhere has its own many problems to face.

Even a year and a half after launch, Elden Ring players still seem to find ways to entertain themselves by finding themselves in wacky situations. With the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC coming soon, there is sure to be more to discover and have more fun with other players in The Lands Between.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
