Destiny 2: When Do Guardian Games 2023 Start?

It’s that time of year again. Guardian Games is about to start again in Destiny 2. However, some players need clarification on when the event actually started. This guide will help Destiny 2 players understand when and what to expect from the 2023 Guardian Games.

2023 Guardian Games start dates

Destiny-2-Guardian-Games-Classic-Screenshot The short and sweet answer is that the 2023 Guardian Games will start on Tuesday 2 May 2023. The event will run for three weeks until Tuesday, May 23, 2023. The following week, Tuesday, May 30, Season 21, Season of the Deep, will go live.

During this time, players will have three weeks to earn exclusive Guardian Games rewards such as shaders, emotes, weapons, armor, and more. Thanks to dataminers, we know this year’s featured weapon will be the scout rifle, while other leaks suggest that Destiny 1 veterans may see the return of the legendary exotic scout rifle, the Tllaoc. In addition to these items, we are still determining what other rewards will be available this year. That said, we know that new Guardian Games titles, as well as the full version of the Revelry game (which has been kept under wraps for the past year) will also be live.

Last year, the Warlocks won the Guardian Games in a landslide, with the Titans finishing second and the Hunters finishing last. This year, the Titans are likely to win the championship. They joined forces to support the loss of their beloved Commander Zavala, whose voice actor Lance Reddick tragically passed away a few weeks ago.

These missions include playing core campaigns like Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit, or endgame campaigns like Raids or Dungeons. Whenever the player defeats an enemy, they will drop a Laurel, essentially a mote from Gambit assigned to each level.

After collecting enough items, the player can return to the tower and deposit them on the podium. The podium will then show which class is leading. As previously mentioned, the Titans will likely be victorious this year in honor of the tragic passing of Lance Reddick, without whom the Destiny 2 community would be very different.

Destiny 2 is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
