Destiny 2 Community Rallies to Help 69-Year-Old Lady Play With Her Son

The gaming community is known for being helpful, and now Destiny 2 viewers have rallied to help a 69-year-old woman play with her son. Like the original game, Destiny 2 is an online FPS that connects people from all over the world.

While Light of Destiny 2 went offline in February and Season of Defiance launched its own content series, many players are still delving into older versions of the game. Even though the 69-year-old returned to Destiny 2 just for the Shadowkeep and Witch Queen content, players who have been working on the Lightfall and Season of Defiance offerings have reached out to help her.

Reddit user Shragae garnered a huge response from the Destiny 2 community after she asked some key questions in a post explaining her desire to play Bungie FPS with her son. According to Shragae, she lost interest in the game after her father’s death, but she and her son recently gave it another go when they both explored Destiny 2’s Shadowkeep and The Witch Queen. With Shragae having some lingering questions, the Destiny 2 community was quick to help her by offering helpful hints based on the Hunter’s various abilities, while others helped directly by teaming up to complete more challenging quests.

Shragae clarified that her son is often away from Destiny 2 and unable to help her through Strikes or Destiny 2 Crucible PvP, and befriending people on the subreddit has helped her through his absence. While her usual dual partner isn’t online, Shragae meets and teams up with a variety of other Guardians, which helps keep her gameplay going in the aforementioned Reddit post.

While many Destiny 2 players have experienced grief or malice in Bungie FPS since its release in 2017, Shragae’s return to the game shows the potential for the community to come together to help others. Given that the game is an ongoing live service that continues to be updated with seasonal content, such as Destiny 2’s Season of Defiance, the help of others could go a long way in motivating Shragae to stay active for the next installment.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
