Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Playlist Changes Upset Fans

The latest Call of Duty : Warzone 2 playlist changes left players frustrated as the standard two-player mode was removed from the battle royale. Call of Duty: Warzone 2 regular updates, mode cycles in and out of BR. However, Call of Duty fans feel that some game modes should be permanent, which is why some playlist changes have led to the inevitable backlash.

Just look at Call of Duty: Warzone 2 companion game Modern Warfare 2 for a perfect example. Shipment 24/7 is one of the most popular playlists in Modern Warfare 2, so removing it will always cause a backlash from the community. Modern Warfare 2 actually ships 24/7 right now, so MW2 players should be happy, though not for those who played Warzone 2.

At first, Call of Duty : Warzone 2’s removal of Solos from the battle royale was a head-scratching move that upset many in the community. Now solo is back in the standard Call of Duty : Warzone 2 battle royale mode, but the two-player mode has been removed. No reason was given as to why Duos were removed from Call of Duty : Warzone 2, but it’s clear from discussions online that fans aren’t happy with the situation.

However, there are some Call of Duty : Warzone 2 fans who dislike the Resurgence game mode and prefer to play Duos in standard BR. Those players are simply out of luck until the new Call of Duty : Warzone 2 playlist update is released, but it’s unclear exactly when that will happen.

While there’s no official reason why Call of Duty : Warzone 2 has removed the two-player mode, fans have been speculating that it’s because of the game’s player count. Player counts for Call of Duty : Warzone 2 have dropped dramatically since the battle royale first launched, so it’s likely that there aren’t enough players to properly populate each playlist. However, this is just speculation for now.

The controversy cast a pall over what was supposed to be a big Call of Duty weekend. Call of Duty recently not only launched Season 3 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, but it also held a limited-time free event allowing fans to experience MW2 multiplayer without having to buy the game.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
