Activision has released details, tactics and tips for Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2’s upcoming Season 3 map, Pelayo’s Lighthouse. A wave of new information about the third season of Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 was recently shared, including plans for multiple new maps. Pelayo’s Lighthouse is one of two 6v6 maps that should be available at the start of Season 3. To help spark interest in the new map, Activision took an in-depth look at what Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 players can expect.
Season 3 of Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 is scheduled to begin on April 12 at 10:00AM PT/1:00PM ET. The Season 3 announcement has confirmed various content planned for release at the start of the season and throughout the season. This includes a new BlackCell-themed Battle Pass, three new weapons, two new Operators, three 6v6 maps, two battle maps, the return of the 2v2 Gunfight game mode, and more.
Since Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2’s new 6v6 map is something players want to know more about, Activision shared an in-depth look at Pelayo’s Lighthouse. Activision describes the map as a “rugged island” with a massive lighthouse, bunkers, boat landing sites, antenna stations, a helipad, and a major complex. The result is an unconventional Call of Duty map with less lane definition.
Each of the main areas of Pelayo Lighthouse is said to offer unique battle scenarios. For example, the Boat Landing area at the Pelayo Lighthouse is said to offer open but uneven ground, offering surprising opportunities for cover. Helipad areas provide high-risk, high-reward line-of-sight access to key areas of the map. The main building of Pelayo Lighthouse offers a multi-level complex with numerous escape and flanking opportunities.
Tips for the new Pelayo’s Lighthouse map include using the Spotter Scope tactical device to help track down enemy operators who may be hiding in surprising locations, using cluster mines and sentry guns to set traps to deny raids, applying the Birdseye Ultimate Perk to observe enemy movement, Even swim into positions the enemy isn’t prepared for. Pelayo’s Beacon will provide clever players with many opportunities to deceive their opponents. But it also makes players vulnerable in surprising ways.
Activision has only just started breaking down everything Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 players can expect in Season 3. Don’t be surprised to see an in-depth look at Season 3’s second 6v6 map, Black Gold, to be shared soon as well. Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 players are looking forward to Season 3’s release on April 12th.
Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
