Big Hogwarts Legacy Update Could Finally Fix Annoying PS5 Bug

It looks like the next Hogwarts Legacy update will finally fix a bug that has plagued the PlayStation 5 version of the game since its release. While no story DLC or anything of the sort has been announced for the game, developer Avalanche Software has supported Hogwarts Legacy updates since launch aimed at addressing some lingering technical issues and other bugs in the game.

While it launched in impeccable condition, Hogwarts Legacy still has its fair share of glitches and bugs, not uncommon for a massive open-world game of its nature. One of the bugs specifically affected PlayStation 5 gamers, making their robes always look dirty and impossible to clean. Now it appears that the next major update to Hogwarts Legacy will finally address this annoying bug head-on.

This is poking fun at Avalanche Software community manager Chandler Wood. Wood recently teased fans on Twitter about the next major Hogwarts Legacy update, revealing that he’s reviewing 30-plus pages of patch notes. A fan later responded to Wood’s post saying they hoped the new update would fix the PS5 dirty laundry bug in Hogwarts Legacy, to which Wood responded, “We’ve been doing laundry.” Not 100% sure about Hogwarts Legacy though. The PS5 dirty laundry bug will be fixed in the next update, but it’s definitely implied.

It’s unclear when the next Hogwarts Legacy update will deploy, but once it does, fans should be able to check the patch notes for themselves to see what’s changed besides the PS5 dirty laundry bug. The update will likely launch alongside the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy on May 5, but it’s also possible that it will be a little later. Either way, it should be a big weekend for the open-world Harry Potter action RPG.

In addition to the debut of the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy, fans of the game have a chance to score some free cosmetics. Hogwarts Legacy players can get Merlin’s cloak and Professor of Charms set via Twitch Drops by tuning into the Twitch stream this weekend. Even those who haven’t played the game can claim these rewards.

Looking ahead, there’s still a Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy to look forward to, and from there, it’s anyone’s guess what’s next for the game. It’s possible that Avalanche will continue with the Hogwarts Legacy DLC, but it’s also possible that the plan will continue with a proper sequel. For now, Avalanche and Warner Bros. are undoubtedly focused on the PS4, Switch, and Xbox One ports of the game and fixing its lingering bugs.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming May 5 and Switch on July 25.
