Andrew Tate Will Be Investigated For 'More Serious Crimes'

Things just got worse as controversial YouTube, TikTok and Twitch star Andrew Tate continues to face legal battles in Romania. Romanian authorities recently expanded and upgraded human trafficking charges imposed on TikTok content creators, saying the change constituted a more “serious” crime.

Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, who were arrested on multiple human trafficking charges back in December 2022, have yet to learn about the ongoing saga. Authorities took no action throughout the investigation, and Tate’s home in Romania was reportedly raided and his entire car collection seized.

It was recently reported that Andrew and Tristan Tate were summoned by the Investigative Directorate for Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT). There, prosecutors informed the brothers that the investigation was being expanded to address more serious “sustained forms” of human trafficking allegations, rather than individual trafficking cases. As well as making the changes, another human trafficking victim has been added to the case as DIICOT considers it a more “serious” offence, meaning the Tate brothers now face charges from more than six women.

If convicted, the Tate brothers could face up to 10 years in prison under Romanian law for adult trafficking. Both Andrew and Tristan have denied all allegations of human trafficking, rape and sexual exploitation, with Andrew tweeting that the restructuring of the investigation has served him “greatly” and that he believes there is absolutely no evidence. The Tate brothers are currently under house arrest after repeated failed attempts to escape from a Romanian prison, with a trial expected sometime in June.

In addition to facing troubling legal charges, Andrew Tate has also had to contend with troubling health allegations. For weeks, speculation and rumors had mounted that Tate had lung cancer after a medical report revealed a lesion in one of his lungs. However, the content creator eventually refuted the rumors, saying the lesions were scar tissue from a previous battle and that his lungs were in good health.

While Andrew Tate has been dealing with quite the mess, a friendly face is finally expected to visit him soon. Controversial anchor Adin Ross has been planning to visit Andrew Tate in Romania shortly after Tate’s initial jail term, and a recent stream suggests the trip will take place sometime this month.
