The RX 7700 XT is designed to compete with the RTX 4060 Ti, but its $449 price tag seems steep compared to Nvidia’s offering. Buyers of these two cards, along with other eligible AMD GPUs and CPUs, will get a free copy of Starfield.
Late last year, AMD showed off its Radeon RX 7000-series GPUs. At the time, two GPUs were revealed: the : RX 7900 XT and the RX 7900 XTX. A few months later this year, the company released the RX 7600 as an entry-level budget-friendly offering. Red Team fans have been eagerly waiting for more mid-range offerings. Finally, last month, the company unveiled the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT graphics cards, which it says will be available starting September 6.
The AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT features 60 compute units, 60 ray accelerators, a base clock speed of 2124 MHz and a boost clock speed of 2430 MHz. It features 16GB of VRAM on a 256-bit memory bus with speeds up to 19.5 Gbps and a TBP of 263W. The Radeon 7800 XT is a 2.5-slot card aimed at 1440p gaming and designed to compete with Nvidia’s RTX 4070. Early benchmarks show that the Radeon 7800 XT is a great value, as it performs as well as it does (and in some cases better). The competition is $100 cheaper.
XFX Speedster MERC319 RX 7800 XT Black
XFX Speedster MERC319 RX 7800 XT Black is the mid-range entry in the Radeon 7000 series of graphics cards. It has a base clock speed of 1624 MHz and a boost clock speed of 2565 MHz. It features 16GB of VRAM on a 256-bit memory bus with speeds up to 19.5 Gbps. For 1440p gaming, the XFX Speedster MERC319 RX 7800 XT Black features a triple-fan cooler design, and AMD recommends that the card have at least a 700W PSU.

AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT features 54 compute units, 54 ray accelerators, 2171 MHz base clock speed and 2544 MHz boost clock speed. In terms of VRAM, it comes with 12GB of GDDR6 on a 192-bit memory bus with speeds up to 18 Gbps. Notably, the card is designed to compete with the RTX 4060 Ti in 8GB and 16GB VRAM models. While AMD can outperform the RTX 4060 Ti, it can’t underprice Nvidia. Considering that the RTX 4060 Ti starts at $399 for the 8GB model and $499 for the 16GB model (and cheaper for some motherboard partner cards), $449 for the RX 7700 XT seems a bit steep.

Priced at Newegg for $450 Unlike the RX 7800 XT, the RX 7700 XT is not available in an MBA version and will be sold exclusively through board partners. The product will not be available on the AMD website.
