A Brand-New TMNT Game is Available to Play Right Now

Apple Arcade unexpectedly launched 20 new games on its subscription platform today, including TMNT Splintered Fate. Developed by Super Evil Megacorp, the exclusive Apple Arcade game is designed as a co-op roguelike, sending the main member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on an adventure to find their missing father, Master Splinter.

TMNT Splintered Fate is playable via touch or a controller, and features fast-paced grappling combat that rivals some simpler roguelikes. The game description promises that no two runs will feel the same. The Turtle Brothers will level up as players attempt to rescue their father from the Foot Clan and Shredder.

Similar to TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, each turtle has its own unique stats and abilities. There’s also a pair of inspiration attributes that can be swapped and upgraded, as well as tool abilities that can be added to their arsenals. For example, Raphael can be seen applying a pair of perks that increase his crit chance and crit damage. In this version, he also comes equipped with a hook tool that deals physical damage and pulls enemies closer for melee attacks. Michelangelo sees attack boost areas and increased multihit chance in the footage, as well as a taunt tool that deals extra damage to stunned enemies.

Similar to other roguelikes like Hades, items and room layouts are randomized. Familiar Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles enemies will be plentiful, including Leatherhead, Beebop, Rocksteady, Karai, and Shredder.

TMNT Splintered Fate may go down as one of the best multiplayer games on Apple Arcade, but it’s not the only original game launching on the platform today. Artist Arcade and Disney are releasing Disney-themed crossword puzzles in Disney SpellStruck. Triband, creators of What the Golf? is launching a new physics-based racer, What the Car? Cityscapes: Sim Builder by Magic Fuel Games is an environmentally conscious city building type.

In addition to the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game and other Arcade Originals titles, the rest of the 20-title list is impressive. These include Chess World, Disney Coloring World, Disney Getaway, Farming Simulator 20, Getting Over It, Hill Climb Racing, Steel Marines, Kingdom Two, Limbo, My Town Home: Family Games, Octodad: Deadly Catch, PPKP, Snake, Temple Run, Time Locker and Very Little Nightmares. This lineup should give gamers one more reason to give Apple Arcade a chance, if they haven’t already.

TMNT Splintered Fate and all other Apple Arcade games are available as a subscription for $4.99 per month.
